Historical Data Pulls & Date Query Parameter Questions
Hi,
I’m working on a project that involves pulling historical data from TOAST using API calls. I’ve reviewed the documentation on rate limits and bulk data endpoints (e.g., Orders Bulk), but our project will require large-scale data extractions covering multiple years. I’m reaching out to get your insight into best practices and recommendations for managing this type of high-volume, historical data pull.
Additionally, we’ll need to perform periodic updates based on modified dates. Could you clarify how TOAST handles Modified Date fields? For example, I noticed that the Time Entries and Orders Bulk endpoints use the start and end date query parameters to represent modified dates. Is the same true for the Shifts endpoint?
Also, for endpoints that accept a single date parameter—such as Deposits, Entries, and Payments—does that date filter apply to the created date, or to the modified date?
Thanks in advance for your help and any guidance you can provide.
