Toast Consolidate Quantities

Some brands request that items with a modifier quantity greater than 1 be consolidated, while other brands prefer to see the quantities broken out. 

Same thing with item quantities. Would it be feasible for Toast to add support for configuring how quantities appear in POS for orders submitted through the orders API?

  Hi Jeremy Gurley,

  There is a "consolidate modifiers" setting that can be configured at the restaurant level, and that setting is documented here. Do you expect this will meet the need customers have in mind?

  Hey Liz Jackson,

  We reached out to a brand who currently uses these settings, but it only works for in-store orders and not orders submitted through the API. 

  District Taco is the brand that I reached out to.

  Got it, that makes sense. (If you're curious, API order behavior differs from in-store order behavior because of the requirements for modifier quantities.)
