Orders API (/orders/v2/)- appliedDiscounts and appliedPromoCode

In the Order object, when appliedDiscounts object contains an appliedPromoCode value, is the discountAmount value equivalent to the promotion amount applied to the check and/or selection?

  The appliedPromoCode is intended to verify eligibility for a selected discount. So discountAmount should be the amount of the discount that the promo code is associated with.

  For orders created using the Toast POS app, restaurant employees are prompted for the promo code when the select the discount, or they search for a promo code in order to apply the associated discount.

  For discounts that are added using the API, the orders API is not able to validate that the provided promo code matches the discount.
