Finding customers using PII on Toast
Thanx offers advanced loyalty solutions, CRM and online ordering to restaurants.
In our data stream from Toast we get the consumer's name, email, and phone number when Toast has it. We want to enable guests to enter their phone number to earn credit for their purchase when they pay cash (we receive this information from our card-network solution for card payments).
I want to know what that looks like on the POS – if I'm a server/waiter and say, "If you want rewards just give me your phone number" is that obvious how I enter it to ensure that guest will get credit? Or is it hard to find? Is there anything else I need to know about this?

Hi Diana,
This article in our Developer Guide provides an overview of the Loyalty POS workflow. When a server is on the order screen they can select the “Rewards” button, which will prompt them to enter in the guest’s phone number. This step relates to the Loyalty API LOYALTY_SEARCH transaction.
